What happened

Ukraine's General Staff said Ukrainian forces struck Tatneft's TANECO refinery in Nizhnekamsk during the night of 19–20 August and that a fire followed. Nizhnekamsk mayor Radmir Belyayev confirmed a large drone attack on the district but said Russian air defences had repelled it; Russian officials did not confirm a refinery hit or publish damage. Reuters reported the Ukrainian military's claim, while video-based Ukrainian reporting also placed a fire at the facility. No independently verified damage assessment, casualty count, affected processing unit, throughput reduction or shutdown was available when this record was added. This is a distinct repeat strike from the mass 10 August attack on Nizhnekamsk and TANECO recorded separately on the map.
