What happened

Drones struck the Bashneft-Novoil refinery in Ufa, part of Rosneft-controlled Bashneft's roughly 7-7.4 million tonne/year Ufa complex, setting off two separate fires that sent thick columns of black smoke into the air. Ukrainian and OSINT-linked reporting said the strike hit the L-35-11/1000 catalytic reforming unit, which processes gasoline fractions into high-octane blending components, and also affected a GEXA combined unit used for diesel hydrotreating and gasoline catalytic reforming. This was reported as the third drone strike on Ufa-area Bashneft refineries within about a week, following the less-specific, unconfirmed 1 August fire recorded separately at this facility and intervening strikes reported on the neighboring Ufaneftekhim and Bashneft-UNPZ plants in the same industrial zone. No casualties, production-halt confirmation, or Russian official damage assessment was found in the cited reporting.
