Ufa refinery complex — reported drone-strike fire

1 August 2026 · Morning (local time)

Ufa, Bashkortostan, Russia

What happened

Fresh social-media footage showed a substantial black-smoke plume reported to be rising from Ufa's northern refinery complex, roughly 1,500km from the front. Online monitoring accounts attributed the fire to a Ukrainian long-range drone strike. Ufa's industrial zone contains three adjoining Bashneft refineries, but the reviewed evidence did not establish which plant or unit was affected, confirm a direct drone impact, or document damage, casualties or an operational shutdown. No current official statement or independent confirmation was found at the time of entry, so the incident remains unconfirmed.
