What happened

Ukraine's transmission-system operator Ukrenergo reported fresh attack-related electricity outages on the morning of 5 October in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Odesa and Kherson oblasts. Emergency repair work had begun where security conditions permitted. Ukrenergo did not identify the damaged facilities, publish regional or combined customer totals, quantify lost capacity or say that each region contained a newly struck energy asset. This is therefore a single aggregate operating-status record rather than six inferred strike markers. It overlaps geographically with Russia's same-morning claim that it struck the Kochetok substation in Kharkiv Oblast, but the Ukrenergo statement did not identify Kochetok and is not treated as confirmation of that specific claim.

When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
