What happened

A localised fire broke out overnight in the ethylene unit of the ORLEN Unipetrol petrochemical complex at Litvínov. Nine fire units responded; the blaze occurred without injury. Investigators later revised the estimated damage to about CZK 20 million, and a fish kill was subsequently found in the nearby Bílina River. Cause was under investigation.
