What happened

Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo said Russian forces attacked its energy facilities four times over 5 October in Zaporizhzhia city and the surrounding district. Approximately 42,000 customers lost electricity after the initial attacks. The operator said crews had restored local supply by Sunday evening, but a renewed strike at about 10:30 the following morning again damaged the network and disconnected roughly 3,000 households. The report did not identify the facilities, weapons, precise impact locations, physical equipment damage, capacity lost or final restoration times. This entry therefore represents one operator-confirmed sequence with an aggregate city marker, rather than four separately geolocated incidents. The 42,000 and 3,000 figures describe successive outage reports and should not be added together as unique customers.

When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
