What happened

Iran's official IRNA news agency, citing a provincial security official, reported that four projectiles struck locations across Chabahar and neighbouring Konarak during a wider round of acknowledged US strikes on IRGC targets along Iran's southern coast. Iranian media also reported further explosions in Chabahar later in the evening. Authorities said a damage assessment was under way. The reviewed reporting did not identify the four impact points, divide them between the two counties or confirm casualties. It also did not establish a hit on Chabahar's commercial port, fuel storage, maritime traffic systems or other energy infrastructure. Konarak contains naval and aviation facilities, making a military target plausible, but that does not identify the actual targets. Iran's Revolutionary Guard subsequently claimed that ballistic missiles struck the US Marine facility at Camp Titin near Aqaba, Jordan, killing US personnel and destroying installations and helicopters. That claimed base damage and casualty account is not corroborated: Jordan said its air defences intercepted 10 of 13 incoming ballistic missiles, with three falling in unpopulated areas without casualties, and two US officials told Reuters that no US casualties had been reported from the attacks on facilities in Jordan. This is recorded as one grouped Chabahar–Konarak attack event rather than four incidents; the Camp Titin exchange is included only as retaliation context, not as a confirmed successful base strike. The marker is an approximate Chabahar Bay reference and must not be read as a verified impact coordinate. This event is distinct from the July 2026 strike that Iranian port authorities said damaged Chabahar Port's maritime traffic-control centre.
