What happened

The Kyiv Independent reported that Telegram monitoring channels, including Exilenova+, said drones reached the industrial area of Rosneft's Ryazan refinery overnight into 5 November, with footage appearing to show explosions and a large fire. The outlet could not verify the footage or whether the refinery was damaged, and Ryazan Oblast Governor Pavel Malkov had not commented. 1news.az, citing RBC-Ukraine and OSINT channels, likewise said there was no official confirmation and the extent of any damage was unknown. Updated on 5 November 2026, 08:10 UTC+0. Militarnyi reported that Governor Pavel Malkov confirmed industrial facilities were targeted after an air-raid alert at about 02:00, and 112.ua, citing Espreso.tv, said he reported drone damage to power lines and fires across the industrial site with no casualties. A Wildberries logistics warehouse near Tyushevo was also reported hit; that site is not energy infrastructure. Neither outlet reported an official refinery damage assessment. This is a distinct event from the governor-confirmed 15 October fire at the same refinery. No casualties were reported. The marker is the city-level refinery reference used for earlier Ryazan records.
