What happened
The Houthis said Aramco facilities in Abha were among their 8 September targets, and Saudi authorities attributed attacks in Abha and fires at southern energy facilities to the Houthis without naming each affected site. Planet Labs imagery published by Reuters specifically shows smoke rising from Saudi Aramco's Abha Bulk oil depot on 8 September, superseding the earlier city-level-only record. A later Soar satellite-imagery assessment, reported by Anadolu Agency, says at least six storage tanks were destroyed and eight more sustained varying degrees of damage. Those tank counts and Soar's assessment that the depot is largely out of operation are attributed analyses, not an independently verified Saudi or Aramco tally. The marker remains an approximate Abha-area reference, not a verified impact coordinate. The imagery does not by itself establish the weapon used, exact impact points, casualties, pollution or a quantified product-supply loss.
