Iranian state television said Iranian forces captured a U.S. unmanned underwater vehicle in the Strait of Hormuz and displayed it as a seized prize. CENTCOM spokesman Capt. Tim Hawkins confirmed that an Anduril Dive-LD had malfunctioned more than a day earlier and was no longer in U.S. possession, while describing it as an older commercially available configuration without sensitive data or classified sonar or radar. Reuters said it could not independently verify Iran's account of the recovery. Maritime Executive reported that close-up imagery allowed open-source identification of the vehicle as a Dive-LD.
