What happened

The IRGC Navy said it attacked three oil tankers travelling on what it called an unauthorised route through the Strait of Hormuz and three U.S.-linked vessels elsewhere after U.S. forces struck the Iranian carriers Downy, Stark 1 and Kylo/Noxen. Iran did not publish the six vessels' names, flags, cargoes, precise positions, weapons, damage or casualties. No matching UKMTO warning, shipowner confirmation or independently verified imagery reviewed for this record establishes six additional impacts. The wording may overlap partly or wholly with Iran's separately recorded ballistic-missile attack on a U.S. aircraft carrier and destroyer and its disputed claim concerning a U.S. unmanned vessel.
