What happened

Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy reported repeated Iranian attacks on power-generation and water-desalination plants over three consecutive days. The 17 July strike damaged plant facilities, ignited a fire and affected a large number of generating units. A further strike on 18 July started another fire and prompted precautionary shutdowns of several units, electricity-conservation appeals and emergency grid-stability measures. Kuwaiti authorities reported another power-and-desalination plant hit on 19 July, with fire, damage to several generating units and firefighters injured while responding. The plants were not named in the public reports, so this is a country-level grouped marker and does not imply that every report concerned a different facility. Authorities said electricity and water supplies were maintained while repairs continued.
