What happened

During an electrical storm, an empty pressure truck caught fire near oil separators at Madero Refinery’s effluent-treatment plant and the flames spread to a pit. Pemex reported one contractor dead and another missing while emergency crews contained the fire. Refinery startup activity continued while damage was assessed.
