What happened

A massive explosion, reportedly triggered by a leaking gas tank, rocked the Petronas Pengerang Integrated Complex (RAPID) in Johor around 1:25am, audible within a 50km radius. Two security guards were injured and treated on-site; an emergency response team contained the fire within about 30 minutes. Several houses in nearby Kampung Lepau were damaged, and Malaysia's Occupational Safety and Health Department investigated compliance with safety standards. This was an accidental industrial incident, not an attack.
