What happened
Ukraine’s General Staff said its forces struck Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat on 8 October and that a fire broke out at the complex. Ukrainska Pravda and the Kyiv Independent reported the statement, strengthening the attribution beyond the initial Telegram and OSINT reports. The General Staff did not specify the extent of damage. Its stated capacity of up to 10 million tonnes of hydrocarbon feedstock annually describes the complex’s processing capability, not capacity lost in this attack. Earlier reporting cited explosions and a possible refinery-area fire; shared footage is not multiple independent confirmations. No reviewed operator statement or authenticated damage assessment establishes affected units, casualties or a fresh production shutdown. The facility-area marker is a reference, not a geolocated impact. This is the same 8 October episode previously listed as unconfirmed, not an additional incident, and is separate from the July and August attacks already recorded.
When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
