Ukraine's General Staff said the Defense Forces struck a technical observation post that Russia had mounted on the Syvash self-elevating (jack-up) drilling rig in the Black Sea, part of the same strike wave that hit the Syzran and Ilsky oil refineries. According to the Ukrainian Navy, Russia used the platform to house drone-control and guidance equipment, reconnaissance sensors for tracking Ukrainian drones, and portable air-defense/anti-drone weapons, and to relay strikes on southern Ukrainian cities.
