Volgograd refinery — primary unit damaged by drone strike

3 February 2024

Volgograd, Russia

What happened

Two Ukrainian drones struck Lukoil's Volgograd refinery, starting a fire and damaging one primary oil-processing unit, according to Russian officials and subsequent U.S. government reporting. Lukoil initially said the approximately 300,000 bbl/d refinery was operating normally, so this record does not assign a full-site shutdown.
