What happened
Ukrainian sources said a joint SBU, HUR, Special Operations Forces and Tavria group operation destroyed a Russian train hauling 40 fuel tankers from Crimea toward occupied territory near Oleksiivka in the Bilmak district. According to the account, the SBU first sabotaged the track, derailing the train and igniting some tankers, after which HIMARS rockets struck the locomotive and outer cars, destroying it along with the 40 tankers. No casualties were reported. This is a Ukrainian military-intelligence claim; independent confirmation of the full 40-tanker toll has not been established.
When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
