What happened
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree claimed on 16 September that Ansar Allah forces struck an Aramco oil facility at Yanbu on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, along with the Khamis Mushait military airbase, using a combination of missiles and drones. Saree asserted the Yanbu strike caused 'fires and widespread destruction' and said the attacks were retaliation for Saudi-backed strikes inside Yemen. The claim was carried by multiple outlets (L'Orient Today, Türkiye Today, Pakistan Today, Seoul Economic Daily), each explicitly noting the absence of Saudi confirmation; no independent imagery, official acknowledgment or casualty figures were available in the reviewed reporting. This is a distinct claimed episode from the confirmed 8 September Jazan and Najran Aramco fires recorded separately on this site, and from the 25 July claimed missile interception at Yanbu recorded under the same facility marker.
