What happened
The Russian Federation informed the IAEA that a drone hit and damaged the cooling tower assigned to the under-construction Unit 2 at Kursk NPP-2. Russian regional and nuclear-industry officials said the not-yet-commissioned cooling system was damaged, while plant operations were unaffected and no casualties or adverse radiological or environmental effects were reported. Because the IAEA relayed Russia's report rather than independently verifying the impact or attribution, this entry is marked reported.
When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
