What happened

Kursk NPP's press service said a drone detonated after being intercepted, damaging an auxiliary transformer and starting a fire that was quickly extinguished. The plant reported no injuries, normal radiation readings and an approximately 50% reduction in output at the operating unit. The IAEA said it was aware of reports that military activity caused the transformer fire but had not independently confirmed them, so the strike and attribution remain recorded as reported rather than documented fact.
