What happened
A sabotage operation cut electricity to the underground enrichment halls at Natanz and damaged centrifuges shortly after Iran began operating new machines. Iran blamed Israel and vowed retaliation; Israel did not officially acknowledge the operation, although Israeli media cited unnamed intelligence sources linking it to Mossad. No casualties or radiological release were reported. This is recorded separately from the July 2020 explosion at the site's centrifuge-assembly building.
When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
