What happened

Ukraine's state energy company Naftogaz said Russia attacked its Odesa combined heat and power plant with missiles and drones overnight into 1 September, damaging part of the main and auxiliary equipment. Debris clearance was continuing when the company reported the strike. Naftogaz did not publish the exact equipment hit, repair timetable, generating-capacity loss or whether heat and electricity service was interrupted, so this record does not claim a full shutdown. The wider overnight attack also damaged port-export infrastructure and temporarily closed the Orlivka ferry border crossing with Romania. Ukraine's emergency service reported one person injured in a fire at a residential building, but did not attribute that injury specifically to the CHP strike.
