What happened

A failure in the Olmeca refinery's cogeneration system caused its process plants to be placed into a safe condition. Pemex reported no danger to personnel, the community or the environment and began a gradual restart the same day. The company did not quantify how much operating capacity was interrupted, so no shutdown percentage is assigned.
