What happened

A renewed Iranian strike combining missiles and drones hit Prince Sultan Air Base on 27 March 2026, wounding 12 U.S. service members — two of them seriously — and damaging multiple U.S. refueling aircraft, according to Military Times. U.S. Central Command had not responded to requests for comment at the time of reporting. This is a separate, later incident from the 16 March 2026 strike on the same base's KC-135 tankers recorded elsewhere on this site; the reviewed reporting did not state whether the same aircraft were affected again.

When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
