Saint-Quentin-Fallavier petroleum depot — electrical-room fire

2 July 2025 · 08:22–10:40 local time

Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, Isère, France

What happened

An electrical-room fire at a petroleum depot disabled pumps supplying crude to its connected refinery. As a precaution, the primary crude-feed pump was stopped while gravity feed continued at a lower-than-normal rate. Refinery firefighters extinguished the main fire by 10:40 using carbon-dioxide extinguishers. ARIA reported no instrumentation impact and did not identify the operator or quantify the refinery rate reduction, so the marker represents the depot rather than an inferred refinery-wide shutdown.
