What happened

An explosion and fire during work to commission a cooling tower at the Hidros 2 plant inside Pemex's 325,000 bbl/d Salina Cruz refinery injured six workers; Pemex employee Víctor Hugo López Matus, who suffered burns over 80% of his body, died the following day. Refining was partially shut, according to IIR Energy and a Reuters source. This was an accidental industrial incident, not an attack.
