What happened

A flash fire occurred at bottom pump GA-311 B of fractionation tower DA-304 while maintenance was under way in the alkylation unit at Pemex's Salina Cruz refinery. Pemex said emergency protocols controlled the incident immediately. Three workers sustained minor burns and were taken to the Pemex General Hospital in stable condition for observation. The company reported no damage to refinery infrastructure and said operations continued normally. This is a separate incident from the 11–12 May Hydros 2 cooling-tower fire that injured six workers and led to one death. An Inspectioneering URL circulated for a supposed 1 June alkylation fire with no injuries, but Pemex's official release and second-quarter report identify the verified event as occurring on 30 June with three injuries.
