What happened
Kyiv Independent reports that Russia launched 433 drones overnight into 1 November, of which 371 were downed, with strikes at 16 locations. DTEK introduced emergency power outages in Kyiv because of continued attacks on the city’s power system, and three DTEK workers were injured. President Zelenskyy said hundreds of thousands of families remained without electricity. No individual energy facility was named and the outage total is not separately quantified; Dnipro and Kyiv outages from earlier strikes are recorded separately. Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy said consumers in eight regions (Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Cherkasy and Kharkiv) lost power, that energy infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions suffered extensive damage, and that nearly 100,000 consumers in Dnipropetrovsk region remained without power after restoration in three districts (UNN). Updated on 2 November 2026, 02:30 UTC+0. The marker is a national aggregate reference.
