What happened

Houthi forces struck Yemen's Al-Anad airbase in Lahij Governorate on 29 August 2021 with a coordinated missile-and-drone attack, hitting soldiers of the Yemeni army's Third Brigade during morning exercises; additional strikes reportedly hit other areas of Anad city. The Houthi movement claimed responsibility and said over 40 were killed and at least 65 injured, while the internationally recognised Yemeni government put the toll at a minimum of 30 killed and 60 injured, cautioning the number could rise; medical sources reported receiving 16 wounded at local facilities.
