What happened

NAVAREA IX 393/26, reproduced by Sealagom, identified Al Dasma following a security incident causing fire and drifting west of Bukha. Clearwater identified IMO 9653446. Later UKMTO reporting carried by AFP and Clearwater said an unknown projectile struck the tanker, the fire was extinguished and the vessel was at anchor, with all crew safe and no environmental impact reported at that time. The later account supersedes the initial fire-and-drifting status; it does not verify cargo loss or establish the attacking party. Actual-vessel archive imagery was found on ShipSpotting under the same IMO, but reuse permission was not verified, so the source photo page is linked rather than embedded. Archive imagery is not evidence of damage.

When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
