What happened

An airstrike by unidentified aircraft hit Al-Watiya Air Base southwest of Tripoli on 4 July 2020, striking Turkish-supplied air-defense systems — including MIM-23 Hawk and Koral systems deployed only two days earlier — at the base controlled by the Turkish-backed Government of National Accord (GNA).
