What happened

Gulf News reported that Oman evacuated 25 crew from a Panama-flagged vessel about 1.6 nautical miles off the Musandam Peninsula on 30 October, with the crew receiving medical care. Windward identifies the vessel as the crude tanker RITI, in ballast, which caught fire while likely transiting dark, and assesses it as one of at least four tankers attacked by Iran on 29–30 October; that attribution is Windward’s. Windward notes NASA FIRMS showed no thermal anomaly off Musandam. No casualties, damage extent, cause or pollution have been officially established. It is not established whether RITI is among the vessels in the IRGC Navy’s mine claim.
