What happened

UK Maritime Trade Operations Warning 137-26 reported a security incident approximately 16 nautical miles northeast of Khasab, Oman, on 17 September. UKMTO said the crew had been reported safe and no environmental impact had been confirmed at the time of the report, while authorities were investigating. The warning did not name the vessel, its flag, operator or cargo, nor did it specify the nature of the incident (for example whether the vessel was struck by a projectile, approached, or otherwise threatened); vessels were advised to transit with caution. This record is separate from the IRGC's own claim of striking the tanker TREND on the same date, since the two have not been linked in any reviewed reporting.
