What happened

A fresh overnight Ukrainian drone attack caused damage and a fire in the Ust-Luga port zone on Russia's Baltic coast. Leningrad Oblast Governor Alexander Drozdenko said air defences intercepted 52 drones during an approximately four-hour assault and confirmed damage and fire at the port; the fire was reported extinguished later that morning and no casualties were reported. Ukraine subsequently confirmed the strike. Public reporting available at entry time did not identify the exact berth, storage tank, loading equipment or processing unit hit, and did not establish an export suspension or processing outage. The record therefore does not infer that the Transneft oil terminal or Novatek gas-condensate complex was struck merely because both operate within Ust-Luga. This is a separate event from the port attacks already recorded for March, July and 14 August 2026.
