What happened

The IMO identifies JIF Barracuda (IMO 9345506), a tug, in its 18 October incident list, recording damage, one injured seafarer and no pollution. Maritime Executive relays UKMTO reporting of two unknown projectiles and says the damaged vessel continued its voyage. Neither an attacker nor a missile/drone model is established. This is a maritime-support vessel, not an oil tanker or a confirmed fuel-cargo loss. The marker is an approximate offshore reference northeast of Khor Fakkan. A 2014 archive photograph under former name Smit Barracuda appears in the linked article, credited to VesselFinder; reuse permission was not established, so it is linked rather than embedded and must not be presented as damage imagery.
