What happened

Kuwait's military said its air defences responded to hostile Iranian missiles and drones on 2 September and again early on 3 September, making this a two-night attack wave rather than a single alert. Iran separately claimed impacts at Ali Al Salem Air Base and, on 3 September, said missiles and drones struck satellite communications, equipment depots and fighter-aircraft hangars at Ahmad Al-Jaber Air Base during the 31st phase of its Saeqeh ('Lightning') operation. Neither Kuwait nor the United States confirmed successful impacts or damage at either base. Kuwait reported that a drone struck a residential complex in Kuwait City and caused a small fire that was contained without casualties; that civilian impact does not verify Iran's separate base-damage claims. The reviewed reporting did not establish that an oil facility, port or other energy asset was struck, or that national operations were interrupted. This record groups the continuing national attack and defensive response without inferring individual military or energy impacts; the marker is a national reference rather than a strike coordinate.

When cited sources give different casualty, damage or spill figures for this event, they’re reported side by side above rather than merged into one number. See how confidence levels work.
