What happened

A fire began at 16:49 in an independent additives-feeding block at Lukoil's Ukhta refinery. The operator said it was contained at 23:20 and extinguished at 01:14 the following morning, after which repair and recovery work began. One employee was hospitalized with an injury described as moderate. Lukoil reported that the refinery's core process equipment, tank farm and connecting utilities were not threatened, that other units continued operating normally and that crude acceptance and commercial output were unrestricted. Company monitoring reported no detected environmental pollution. Because the operator did not identify the additives involved, this is labelled as an additives-unit fire rather than specifically a fuel-additive incident.
