What happened

UKMTO Warning 148-26 describes an outbound tanker struck at 11:22 UTC+0 on 2 October, causing a small fire and blackout; the fire was extinguished and passage continued. Seatrade, citing Vanguard, identifies Uhud with the same date, time, direction and outcome. IMO independently lists Uhud, IMO 9254939, damaged on 2 October without pollution. The name is retained as a reported identification because UKMTO initially withheld it. Seatrade also notes a 3 October date in JMIC, an unresolved chronology difference. No casualties or environmental impact were reported in the initial notice. Cargo and attacker remain unestablished. The approximate marker is not a vessel position.
