What happened

The Freedom of Russia Legion, a Ukraine-aligned group of former Russian military personnel, said its members set fire to a freight train carrying fuel intended for Russian forces near Yekaterinburg on the night of 4–5 November 2022. No casualties were reported. This is among the earliest fuel-specific rail-sabotage claims of the full-scale war; the exact site and extent of tanker damage have not been independently confirmed.
