What happened

Kyiv Post reports that long-range drones struck the Bashneft-Novoil refinery in Ufa overnight into 31 October, and that ASTRA’s analysis of eyewitness photographs confirmed an aerial impact ignited a major fire there. Preliminary visual assessments suggest the fire engulfed the L-35 catalytic reforming unit; this unit identification is not operator-confirmed. The Crimean Wind monitor also reported fires at the adjacent Bashneft-UNPZ site, which is not independently established here. Russian aviation authorities suspended flights at Ufa airport. No casualties, throughput loss or shutdown have been confirmed. This is distinct from earlier 2026 strikes on the Ufa refinery complex. The marker is a refinery-complex reference.
