What happened
Middle East Eye, citing an IRGC Navy statement carried by Tasnim, reports Iran's claim that two oil tankers, one in the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz and one in the strait itself, caught fire and were stopped after striking mines while using what it called unauthorised routes. The IRGC said the tankers had turned off their navigation and identification systems and were trying to exit with US military support, and repeated that the strait remains closed until Iran's seven conditions are met. No vessel names, flags, positions, incident times, casualties or confirmation from UKMTO, JMIC, CENTCOM or owners were given. It is not established whether this statement describes new incidents or restates the IRGC and Iranian army claims of 5 November. The marker is a broad regional reference, not an impact site.
